Paul Cady Bio


Paul focuses on helping business owners become aware of their true reasons for selling their business. He is passionate about the goal of selling a customers’ business and helps his clients plan their life goals after their business has been sold.

Paul also has experience of his own running family owned businesses. He has experienced the emotions that come with a family run business. His personal experience guides him with appropriate attention to stressful family dynamics that need to be dealt whenever the business owner decides to sell the business. His clients have a sense of belonging as they position their business to sell and begin the emotional journey.

While Paul has had personal experience selling Cady Communications on his own for a significant dollar amount, he believes that if he had the assistance of a focused business broker, the sale price would have been higher.  The key to Paul’s success is his personal experience of selling a business and learning the hard way the value of using a business broker.

Cady Investment Company, Minneapolis, MN - Investment and consulting to Twin City area businesses for sales strategies, operations, management, business growth, fundraising and other general business issues.

United Way, Minneapolis, MN - Fundraiser; Visit companies for purpose of United Way fundraising, public speaking to encourage company involvement, and active employee participation.

Advanced Telecommunications Inc./Eschelon Communications (formerly Cady Communications), Plymouth, MN; President and Chief Operating Officer - Directed operations for a high tech fast growing telecommunications firm, including: Sales, marketing, financial operations, human resources, business development and strategic planning, part of a managerial team handling three out- of-state mergers and acquisitions requiring heavy contact with attorneys, accountants and venture capital firms, directed and encouraged United Way contribution and participation, along with other charitable functions. Company grew from nearly 11 million to 32 million in sales and 100 to 300 employees from 1996 to 1999.

Cady Communications, Plymouth, MN; Owner and Chief Executive Officer - Responsible for the startup of a highly technical telecommunications company. Directed all sales, marketing, financial operations, human resources, business development and charity functions, responsible for two Twin City area acquisitions. Company grew to over 10 million in revenue and 100 employees by 1996.

Volunteer Experience:

Significant charitable contributions through volunteering and fundraising including:

    * Personally leading the United Way Campaign in a company of 300 employees, fundraising for the United Way,

    * Fundraising for the YMCA active participant in the YMCA, serving on the board and acting as Chairman of the Board since September

2001-2005, coaching for elementary age basketball and baseball programs.

    * Served as President of “ ISA ” an association for telecommunication companies.

Education and Awards:

Saint Cloud State University, Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing, 1981.
